ITINERARY

Day 1, Sept. 17 - Meet at Hotel Cram for introductions and our first dinner together.

Day 2, Sept. 18 - Breakfast is on your own. Have your bags packed and bring them with you before we begin our day visiting one of the many markets in Barcelona,  La Boqueria or Las Ramblas. Later our van will pick us up and transport us for 1.5 to 2 hours to Bordils to our villa. We'll unpack and get situated before having our first meal together at Can Tallada.

Day 3, Sept. 19 - Judy will begin our week of journaling by teaching us how to create the journal that we will use this week. All meals will be provided.

Day 4, Sept. 20 - Today will be Katie's turn to provide prompts and direction as you create more journal pages. All meals will be provided.

Day 5, Sept. 21 - Our guide, Jack will pick us up in the sprinter as we head out to the beautiful Costa Brava coastline. We'll visit the medieval village of Pais, a local cheese maker. Lunch or menu al dia will be provided on the road and dinner will be back at our villa.

Day 6, Sept. 22 - Today will be filled with making art with prompts from Judy and Katie and just chilling out in the many nooks and crannies of Can Tallada. All meals will be provided.

Day 7, Sept. 23 - After breakfast we will head to nearby Girona for a city tour, walking along the walls and peering down on the narrow streets and buildings painted a range of colors. There is a notable landmark, a red metal bridge that was designed by M. Effiel, who built the Eiffel tower, and there are beautiful medieval buildings throughout the city. And a little more notable in modern time, this "City of 1,000 Sieges" will be the backdrop for parts of the sixth season of Game of Thrones, and from a foodie perspective, this is where the triple-Michelin-starred restaurant, El Celler de Can Roca is located, crowned the World's Best Restaurant in the prestigious San Pellegrino awards. Lunch will be in town and dinner will be back at the villa.

Day 8, Sept. 24 - After breakfast, we will clean up, pack and drive back to Barcelona. That afternoon we will say farewell to those who are leaving, and the rest of us will have free time before we meet that evening for a Devour Barcelona evening tapas tour.

Day 9, Sept. 25 - Breakfast is on your own. We'll say farewell to some of our friends as we had out in taxis to the Miro Museum, then lunch and the Picasso Museum. A leisurely walk back to our hotel will stimulate our hunger for dinner that evening at Ciudad Condal. You will have time to explore before dinner.

Day 10, Sept. 26 - Breakfast on your own before we head out on Forever Barcelona private 4-hour tour of Antonio Gaudi's Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. Lunch will be on our way back. There will be free time before our final dinner at Tapas 24.

Day 11, Sept. 27 - The tour is over and everyone is on their own to return home or to other parts of Spain.

A supply list will be provided.

The itinerary may change due to weather, new opportunities or the whim of the group.

The gorgeous Can Tallada villa is our home base in the small, charming village of Bordils, about 1.5 hours from Barcelona. This week will be filled with art, community, laughter, and discovery.

What better way to enjoy and experience Place then spending time playing in our journals together. We’ll start off the week making a journal that we will fill with color, line, and fun over the coming days. Judy and Katie will use daily prompts and themes to guide us and give certain tools and supplies for emphasis on varying days. This will be an opportunity to experiment with all the “what ifs” and “I want to try this” thoughts, and whole-heartedly engage with our creative energy, the place and each other as we gather a Circle of Friends.

Both Judy and Katie use journals in their art practices, especially Judy who journals every day and has years of journals stacked in her studio and office.

The beautiful coast of the Girona province is known as the Costa Brava and is home to some great beaches and beautiful coastal towns and villages. We'll tour here and the walled city of Girona.
